What it does
Six things the Beacon Tag is for
All of it runs in the Apple Find My app that is already on your iPhone. Nothing to install, no account to open, no subscription now or later.
Listed in Apple Find My
The tag appears under Items, next to your iPhone and your AirPods. Passing Apple devices report its position back to your Apple Account, worldwide, at no cost to you.
Make it ring
Tap Play Sound and the tag sounds at 80–100 dB from up to 60 m away. That is loud enough to hear through a coat pocket, a sofa cushion or a closed drawer.
A warning as you walk away
Leave the tagged item behind and your iPhone says so within a street or two, with the last confirmed location already pinned on the map.
A safe way to get it handed back
Mark it lost and whoever picks it up can hold their phone to the tag, read your message and reach you through Apple Find My. Your phone number stays private.
A battery you change yourself
One CR2032 coin cell, sold in every supermarket for a couple of pounds. Twist the back off, swap it, twist it shut. Up to 2 years per cell.
Rated IP67
Dust-tight, and sealed against rain, spilt drinks and a brief drop into water. Fine in a coat pocket, a rucksack or the boot of the car.
On the phone
What the Find My app actually shows you
There is no dashboard of ours to learn and no second app to keep signed in. The Beacon Tag sits in the Items list in Apple Find My, one tap away from a map, a Play Sound button and a left-behind switch.

One list for everything you own
The tag sits with your iPhone, your iPad and your AirPods under the same Apple Account. One app, one map, one sign-in.
The map gets the room, the sound gets the drawer
Up to 100 dB, from as far as 60 m. A pin on a map narrows it to a building. Ringing it narrows it to a cushion.
Told when you leave it, not when it is gone
The alert arrives while you are still walking away and the last confirmed location is already pinned, so turning back costs a minute rather than an afternoon.
Range, explained
60 m is how far it rings, not how far it reaches
People read the ringing range in the specification and assume the tag goes quiet beyond it. It does not. The Beacon Tag only has to come within Bluetooth reach of somebody else’s Apple device, and in the UK there is rarely a street, a platform or a departure lounge without one.
Step 1: The tag gives off a signal
A short Bluetooth signal that carries no name and nothing that points back to you. Any Apple device within about 60 m in the open can pick it up, whoever it belongs to.
Step 2: Someone else’s iPhone relays it
That device encrypts its own location and sends it to Apple’s Find My network. The relay is anonymous, and the person carrying the phone is never told and never sees a thing.
Step 3: You read it on your map
The position appears in Find My under Items, with the time it was last seen. Only your Apple Account can unlock it: not us, and not Apple.

Where that matters in practice
The case that stayed at Heathrow
You landed in Edinburgh and it did not; Find My shows the terminal it is sitting in, which is what the airline desk needs to hear.
A rucksack left on the rack
It reports in whenever a passenger’s iPhone goes by, so you can see which end of the line the train finished at.
A bike outside the station
Tucked under the saddle, the tag reports from wherever the bike is wheeled past someone with an iPhone, not just from the rack where you left it.
This is the same Apple Find My network that AirTag uses: the same passing devices, the same anonymous, encrypted reports, the same map. The Beacon Tag is not an AirTag and does not claim to be. It costs a fraction of one.
How often the position updates depends on Apple devices passing within range: often on a high street or at a station, much less often down a quiet lane or in a locked shed. Ringing the tag is a separate job and needs your own iPhone within about 60 m. Apple, AirTag and Find My are trademarks of Apple Inc. The Bluetooth word mark is a registered trademark of Bluetooth SIG, Inc.

Beacon Tag against the Apple AirTag
Both register on the Apple Find My network, both ring out loud, both warn you when you walk off without them. The differences are the price, the key ring and what turns up in the box.

The hardware
Square, 9 mm thick, with the key ring hole already in it
36.3 mm across and 9 mm deep, in black, and about 10 g on the scales. The hole is moulded into the shell, so there is no adhesive pad to peel and no holder to buy afterwards.

Setting it up
Three steps, on the phone you already carry
The Beacon Tag registers as an "Other Item" in Apple Find My, which is the standard route Apple provides for third-party accessories. It takes about a minute per tag.
Step 1: Open Find My and go to Items
On your iPhone, open the Find My app, tap Items along the bottom of the screen, then tap "Add Other Item".
Step 2: Hold the face of the tag
Press and hold the front of the Beacon Tag until it chimes, then give it a name you will recognise in a hurry. "House keys" is useful. "Item 1" is not.
Step 3: Fit the key ring and carry on
Thread the supplied key ring through the hole and attach it to whatever you are tagging. From that point the tag is on the map, it can be made to ring, and it warns you when you leave it behind.
You need an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14.5 or later, signed in to iCloud. There is no Android support and no workaround for it. If the phone in question is an Android, this is the wrong product and we would rather say so here than refund you later.
Customer reviews
Six owners, quoted as they wrote it
Reviews of this exact tracker, printed word for word, spelling, hedges and all.
Seamless iPhone pairing
Bought it for my stroller for a Disney trip and it worked brilliantly. Pairing was fast and sharing the tag with my partner was as easy as an AirTag.

Keeps them on track
Got these for a friend who always misplaces their keys. It has saved them so many times already.
Cameron H.Amazon listing, not our shop
Very good
Works exactly as expected. Set up in a minute and the ring is loud.

Find the dog
Great value for a tag on our dog's collar. Locations so far have been spot on.

Gift for my daughter
My daughter has a chaotic house with five kids and a Great Dane. She says this actually finds her keys, unlike the last brand we tried.

Great for the price
Two tags for less than half an AirTag. Battery swap is easy. Only wish it came in more colours.

Every review on this page is printed verbatim, warts included. The score above averages exactly those reviews and nothing more, rounded to one decimal place; bluetoothtracker.co.uk is new, so the set is small and each one counts for a lot. The badged ones were quoted from the tracker’s Amazon listing as published on 11 September 2026.
Questions
Ten questions we are asked at the counter
Including the three with an answer some people would rather not read. They are all here anyway.
Do you hold stock in the UK, or does this come from overseas?
Stock sits in the UK and orders are picked and posted from here. We dispatch within 1 working day and UK delivery normally takes 3–5 working days after that, which is the difference between a tracker on your keys this week and a parcel you are still waiting on next month. Returns come back to a UK address as well, so there is no international postage to pay if you change your mind.
Will a Beacon Tag work with my Android phone?
No. The tag registers on the Apple Find My network, which needs an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14.5 or later and signed in to iCloud. There is no Android app, no partial support and no way around it. If you are buying this as a gift, check which phone the person carries before you order, it is the single most common reason a tag comes back to us.
How small is it, and will it sit flat in a wallet?
It is 36.3 mm square and 9 mm thick, and weighs about 10 g. That is smaller than a £2 coin across and roughly the thickness of three of them stacked, so it drops into a handbag or a rucksack pocket without being noticed. In a slim card wallet you will feel it. In a folded leather wallet or a bag it disappears.
When do you post it, and is delivery genuinely free?
Genuinely free, to any UK address, on any order size, there is no minimum spend and no surcharge added at checkout or at the door. Orders are dispatched within 1 working day and usually arrive 3–5 working days later by Royal Mail. Ordering several boxes does not change the postage, because there is none to change.
Is there anything left to pay once I have bought it?
No. There is no companion app to buy, no account to create, no free trial that becomes a subscription and no monthly fee. The Apple Find My network that does the locating is Apple’s to run and costs you nothing to use. The only future expense is a CR2032 coin cell, a couple of pounds, roughly every two years.
